# Write a blog post

1.  **Open Marketing → Blog → All posts** and click **New post**.
    
2.  **Write.** Title, then the body in the editor: headings, lists, images, links, tables, video embeds from YouTube or Vimeo.
    
3.  **Add a featured image.** It shows on the blog index and when the post is shared.
    
4.  **Pick a category and tags.** Create categories under **Blog → Categories**.
    
5.  **Fill in SEO.** The search title and description. The address (slug) comes from the title; you can change it.
    
6.  **Publish or schedule.** Publish now, schedule a date and time, or keep it as a draft.
    

## Good to know

-   **Renaming a post keeps old links working.** When you change a slug, the old address redirects to the new one.
-   **The editor cleans what you paste.** Formatting is kept; anything that could run code in a reader's browser is removed.
-   **Blog analytics** (under Blog → Analytics) show views per post without tracking who read them.
-   **AI can help.** Connect Claude through the [MCP server](https://docs.dashfordevs.com/v1/ai-agents) and it can draft posts straight into your blog as drafts for you to review.
