Overview

UTM parameters let you track where your traffic comes from. DashForDevs automatically captures UTM parameters from URLs and associates them with customer sessions.

UTM Parameters

ParameterPurposeExample
utm_sourceTraffic sourceinstagram
utm_mediumMarketing mediumsocial
utm_campaignCampaign namesummer-sale
utm_termSearch keywordblue dream
utm_contentAd variationbanner-a

Example URL

https://yourstore.com/products?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=summer-sale

How It Works

When a visitor arrives with UTM parameters:

  1. Parameters are automatically captured by the tracking module
  2. They're associated with the visitor's session
  3. If the visitor places an order, UTM data is linked to the order
  4. View attribution data in the dashboard under Analytics
